Kenneth "Ken" or "Sonny" Karl Vierck was born to parents Karl and Claire (Wiersig) Vierck on May 21, 1934, at St. Mary's Hospital in
Watertown, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school, Ken joined the United States Marines, where he served from January 7, 1952, until his honorable separation on January 6, 1955. He further served in the Army Reserves for many years. On December 31, 1960, Kenneth was united in marriage to Stephanie Porod in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ken worked for over 32 years at Barry Transfer and Storage as a professional Teamster truck driver until his retirement on February 28, 1992. Following their retirements, Ken and Stephanie spent their winters in Arizona enjoying sun-filled days of playing golf, visiting family and friends, and memorable road trips.
Ken enjoyed playing cribbage with his brother Paul, New Years Eve poker games with his family and many evenings spent playing Euchre with Steph, Paul and Cathy. He enjoyed a good game of golf with his brother and friends, as well as many years of bowling in multiple leagues. His biggest win was a bowling tournament where he won $8000.00. Ken had an avid love of music and was a natural talent. He taught himself how to play the guitar, piano and sing. He loved karaoke! Ken loved spending time with his family and often reminisced about camping trips spent at Jellystone Park and the Playful Goose.
