Kenneth Brian Wears, 50, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, after a brief illness. Kenneth was born in Port Clinton, the son of Kenneth D. and Betty J. (Perry) Wears, on June 8,1974. He graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1993 and went on to a lifelong career in welding and fabrication.
Kenneth worked for Northern Manufacturing Co. of Oak Harbor for the past year. He also worked for Biro Manufacturing for 16 years and the former Kelsey-Hayes Company as his first job.
Kenneth was an outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He spent much of his free time fishing in many of the area's lakes and waterways not only in the warm weather, but also ice fishing. He loved to hunt deer in the local area and in the hills of southern Ohio. Kenneth was an avid sprint car race fan, spending many Friday and Saturday nights at the local tracks, watching his favorite sprinters. When he wasn't at the races, he traveled to watch the demolition derbies held around northwest Ohio.
Kenneth is survived by his loving sister, Melissa Wears, nieces, Tally Tussing and Tabetha Cutcher, great niece and nephews, Kaylyn Wears, Kenny and Brysen Wears, and Waylon Thompson, along with his honorable cousins, Greg Royster and Renee Royster, and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Betty, cousin, Curtis Royster and many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton.
