Kenneth Wiggins Obituary

Kenneth E. Wiggins 67 of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on February 23, 2026.

He was born on August 10, 1958 in Anniston, Alabama, and resided his entire lifetime in Mobile, Alabama.

He retired from MAWSS after 33 years of service. Kenny, as he was known, was a 1977 graduate of John Shaw High school.

He was a member of The Knights of Columbus council 11366 .

He was faithfully devoted to Southern League baseball at Municipal Park; serving as coach and sitting on the Executive board of directors for many years.

In 2008 he was Head Marshall of a mystic society. In his early adulthood, he volunteered as an experienced ax thrower for Fort Conde.

He loved life and the people in it.

He never met a stranger. He was affectionately known to his family as "Big Daddy" and to his work family as "Cheese"!

He enjoyed the simple things in life like hunting, fishing and sharing a cup of coffee with those he loved.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Willie Wiggins, his loving mother, Helen Brown Wiggins, and his loving in laws, Charles R. Smith Sr. and Inez Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Theresa, his daughter Amy (Kristian), his grandson, Landan Ray "LaDa" Wiggins, his sister, Leigh "Nanny" Solomon (James) of Atlanta, Texas, nieces, nephews (one dedicated Clay Smith (Anna), great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, friends and extended family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00 am . The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time Friday at the church.
