Kenneth Wilson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 31, 2025.
**In Loving Memory of Kenneth James Wilson, Sr.**

Kenneth James Wilson, Sr. was born on July 26, 1936, and departed this world on August 28, 2025. Surrounded by family and friends in his final hours, he went home to the Lord peacefully, for which we are eternally grateful. Whether you called him Ken, Kenneth, Kenny, Dad, Pop, Pap, Hanes, or Uncle Kenny, your life was enriched simply by knowing and loving him. Kenneth was a proud, loving father. Nothing made him happier than having family around. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 68 years, Rita; children Katherine (Mike) Mehal, Kara (Earl) Anderson, and Kenneth James Wilson, Jr.; son-in-law William Patton; brother Ronald (Adrienne) Wilson; and special family Greta Houston Wilson and Judd (Tina) Smith. His beloved grandchildren Jenna (Tom) Kozlowski, Jason (Katie) Mehal, Garrett (Stephanie) Mehal, James Hayden (Alexis) Anderson, Sr., Avery (Wilson) Raines, Christopher Patton, Riley (Will) Nuckols, Taylor (Shawn) Isam, Maddie Wilson and fiancé Grant Edmonstone, and Virginia Wilson will cherish his memory forever. He is also survived by six, soon to be seven, great-grandchildren: Henry and Ada Kozlowski, Ella and Hannah Mehal, James Hayden Anderson, Jr., and Anderson Raines. Additionally, he leaves behind nieces Amye (Brian) Michalek and Julie (Matt) Brown. Kenneth is predeceased by his father, James Edward Wilson; mother Myrtle Kay Sizemore; stepmother Edna Wilson Johnston; daughter Kim Sheree Patton; and son Kevin Ronald Wilson. Ken had a special way with words, often sending and receiving cards filled with heartfelt messages. He loved to share his unique "Roses Are Red" poems, always crafted to inspire a laugh.

In his honor, we share one final poem: **Roses are red, violets are blue We've lost a good man through and through. So many great stories of family and friends, He loved to share them again and again. His love of God and country was clear to all, Maybe only surpassed by the love of his Vols. His family was his entire world, it's true, He never missed an opportunity to say "I love you." We'd love him right back, with a hug and a kiss, His compassion and humor will forever be missed.**

Service information will follow when finalized.

Kinney and me lived with our Grandfather Jeff Wilson during many summers in Johnson City Tennessee. Our lives got separated but my memory of Kinney remains strong.
