Mr. Kenneth Wayne Wilson, age 77, of Dutton, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Monday, July 28, 2025, from Chaney's Chapel Church. Burial will follow in Chaney's Chapel Cemetery. Officiating is Bro. Ricky Rush. The family will receive friends from 2pm-3pm, prior to the service, on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the church.
Kenneth Wayne Wilson, affectionately known as Papa Kenneth, was a man whose life was defined by love, Kindness, and unwavering dedication to those around him. Married to his high school sweetheart for 58 wonderful years, Kenneth built a life centered on faith, family, and service.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who never missed a single event in his grandchildren's lives. Whether it was a game, recital, or school program, you could always count on Papa Kenneth to be there - smiling, encouraging, and beaming with pride.
Kenneth had a deep love for the outdoors and shared countless memorable hunting trips with close friends. He valued these friendships dearly and cultivated them through laughter, loyalty, and a genuine appreciation for life's simple joys.
A natural leader and mentor, Kenneth served as both a coach and principal, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. He was widely respected for his integrity, fairness, and calm presence, always leading with encouragement and grace.
Even in the hardest of times, Kenneth remained a steady source of optimism. He had a remarkable ability to find the good in any situation and to lift others up with his quiet strength and kind words. His legacy is one of unwavering love, gentle guidance, and a life well lived in service to others.
Kenneth is survived by his wife (of 58 years): Joyce Townson Wilson; daughter: Didi Wilson (Lowell Ray) Barron; son: Scott (Margaret) Wilson; sister: Kay Plemons; grandchildren: Matt Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Kennedy Barron, Claudia Barron, Campbell Barron.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents: Howard & Imogene Wilson; brother: Thomas Wilson; grandparents: Laban & Amy Wilson and Earl & Obera Rush.
