Kenneth Wright Obituary
September 29, 1952 - July 4, 2023
Deacon Kenneth William Wright, Sr., was born on September 29, 1952, in Winston-Salem, N.C., to the late Fred and Lizzie Lash. He was called to his eternal home at the age of 70 on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. He attended Forsyth County Schools and East Carolina University. He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. His undeniable hobby of choice was playing golf. Kenneth was a member of St. Matthew Apostolic Temple Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. for many years. He later joined Destiny Temple, Inc. He worked at WestRock fka RockTenn as an assembly line leader and at the Forsyth Country Club for 30+ years combined. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons Kenneth William Wright, Jr., and Theander Brannon; one grandson Theron Brannon, III. He is survived by his faithful wife of 39 years, Mrs. Vernessa Wright; three sons, Theron (Shatia) Brannon of Colorado, Theophilus Brannon, Randolph "Moose" Griffin of New Hampshire; a daughter, Breyanna Griffin of New Hampshire; a sister, Vanessa Lash Conrad (Junior Scales); brothers: Michael Lash, Fredrick (Jackie) Lash of Georgia, Wayne and James Lash; mother-in-law, Estella McFadden; two brothers-in-law, Tony White of Sacramento, CA, Ronzoni (Carolyn) White of Missouri, and a devoted nephew, Woodrow Wilson Johnson III of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Family visitation will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at St. Matthew Apostolic Temple Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. Homegoing Celebration will follow at 11:30 a.m., with Senior Pastor James Hayes of Destiny Temple, Inc., Officiating & Eulogist. The interment will be at the Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Memorials may be given to The Kidney Foundation in honor of Deacon Kenneth William Wright Sr. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Northside Dialysis Center and Always Best Care Senior Services.
