Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, February 9th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., for Kenneth B. Wright, who passed away on January 31st at 84 years of age. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, Kenneth was raised and educated there throughout his childhood. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served faithfully during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged in 1967. After returning home from the service, he settled in Revere and married Patricia (Amato). The couple later moved to East Boston where they began and raised their family. Kenneth worked in customer service with Fidelity Investments for over 15 years, and he began enjoying retirement in the early 2000s.

He was an avid gardener and while spending his time outside he began to take on the role of caring for the stray and feral cats in the neighborhood. His affection for animals led him to feeding, housing, and helping to rehabilitate any feline friend in need. In his spare time, Kenneth enjoyed visiting the former Jeveli's Restaurant in East Boston, where he became a fixture, affectionately known as "Cowboy."

He is the son of the late Roland and Ruby (Shuman) Wright. Devoted father of Kenneth Wright Jr. and his wife Melissa of Portland, Oregon, Lauren Anne Wright and her partner Shawn Carley of East Boston, and Rachel E. Wright and her partner Oscar Valle of Lynn. He is the cherished grandfather of Sadie Wright, Lili Wright, Tayla Wright and Laura Sophie Wright, all of Portland, Oregon, and Jason Valle of Lynn. He is lovingly survived by his former wife, Patricia Poersch and her husband Peter of Revere. He will be missed dearly by all of the neighborhood cats which he cared for over the years, especially Ms. Kitty Mama who was by his side until the end.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
