Kenny Doby

 

Mr. Kenny Wilson Doby, 63, of Mocksville, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born December 10, 1959 in Forsyth County. Kenny was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church who was a hard working and dedicated man who loved helping others. He was employed with Talbert Building Company (formerly Poindexter Lumber Company). Kenny also formerly worked for Caudell’s Lumber Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel White Doby and Charles Doby, Sr.; his first wife, Pamela McGlamery Doby; one sister, Kathy Freeman and one brother, Michael Doby. Surviving are his wife, Mitzi Matthews Doby; a daughter, Kendra Denise Doby Tallent (Matthew); a son, James Michael Doby (Courtney); 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, a stepdaughter, Melissa Ashley (Robert); two sisters, Betty Myers (Glen) and Joan Doby; one brother, Charles Doby, Jr. (Gwen); a special aunt and uncle, Frances and Bob Legg; special family, Tammy and Howard, Shana and Johnny and Brice and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Green Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor James Buchanan and Pastor Kevin Hobson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
