Kent Lee Byrd

Kent Lee Byrd, 48, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Kent was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sheila Kay, and Ronald Wade Byrd.
He is survived by his fiancé, Genevieve Ballenger, daughter and son-in-law, Maranda and Thomas Nester, daughters Emma Byrd and Ashlyne Ballenger, son Beau Byrd, and four grandchildren. Kent is also survived by his stepmother, Linda Byrd, five brothers, three stepsisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Kent, an avid fisherman, loved to spend time on the water catching big fish and telling big fish stories. He loved his children and was a big kid himself. Kent loved to make others laugh, riding motorcycles and listening to music.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at High Country Services Funeral Home, beginning at 7pm. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 7pm. Kent's nephew, Hunter Bowers, will be officiating the celebration following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses by using the tribute fund tab on his obituary page.
