Kent William Cooper, age 63, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at State Center Specialty Care under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
A visitation to celebrate the life of Kent will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshalltown at a private family service. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born on March 30, 1962 in Marshalltown, Kent was the son of Gary and Charlotte (Isgrig) Cooper. He and his two siblings grew up in Marshalltown, where he graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1982. Kent worked for many years as a CNA at various area nursing homes. Kent enjoyed movies, music and spicy foods.
Kent is survived by his siblings: Mark (Lisa) Cooper of Garwin and Conni (Terry) Odle of Altoona and his four nieces, Hallie Wiese, Sara (Brad) Smith, Wendee (Kevin) Ong and Jadi (Grant) Wilson and their families. He is also survived by numerous loving extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Charlotte and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
