Kent McDonald Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowers Funeral Home - Island Falls on Dec. 4, 2025.
Gray-Sherman - Kent Michael McDonald, 58, died December 1, 2025, in Portland. He was born October 5, 1967, in Island Falls to Michael (Mickey) and Janice (Springer) McDonald.
Kent was a true lover of nature; he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved playing soccer in high school, was an amazing downhill skier, and loved watching a good football game on Sunday afternoons. Whoever knew Kent at all, knew his pickup was his pride and joy. He thoroughly enjoyed washing and meticulously cleaning it every single day. His body was a showcase of beautifully done tattoos of hunting, fishing, and Native American art; his tattoo artist chose a couple of his tattoos to print in a magazine at one time.
Kent was one of the best oil burner men in the business, working many years for various oil companies until he branched out on his own and started his own business. In the last few years, he has been a manager at a hardware store in the Gray area.
Kent is survived by his mother, Janice, and her husband, Glenn (Chuck) Kennedy, of Sherman; one sister, Nicole (Nikki) Landry, of Patten; one very special nephew, Brenden, and his wife, Jaylene; two special nieces ("sweeties," as he called them), Georgia and Mickenzie; and two great-nieces and a great-nephew, Olivia, Trinity, and Trenton Michael. He was predeceased by his father, Mickey. Kent was loved so much by his family and they will miss him more than he could ever know.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 9, at 11 AM at the RIP Museum in Island Falls. Interment will be in the Sherman Cemetery. To share condolences and memories, please visit www.bowersfuneral.com
