Kermit Malone Johnson Jr.

Kermit Malone Johnson, Jr., age 48, of Crossnore, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2023 at his residence. A native of Avery County, he was a son of Kermit Johnson, Sr. and Pamela Farmer Johnson of Crossnore.
Kermit was a lifelong member of Crossnore First Baptist Church. He liked to hunt and fish, his animals, his friends, and especially spending time with his brothers. He had a great, outgoing personality with a very caring heart who always put others first. He adored his niece and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers: Kevin Johnson (Charity) and Kelly Johnson (Casey), all of Crossnore; niece and nephews: Addison, Tristan, Colton and Landon Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17 at Crossnore First Baptist Church. Rev. Jeremiah Parker and Rev. Lander Hefner will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the John Johnson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Randall Aldridge, John Dellinger, Phillip Johnson, James Johnston, Jamie Potter and Christopher Carpenter. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bart T. Farmer, Jason Stout, Jason McClellan and Randy Baker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Crossnore First Baptist Church at 220 Crossnore Drive, Newland, NC 28657.
