Kerri Harris Obituary
Kerri Wilson Harris, 54, passed away December 17th, 2024, at her home in Wilmington, NC. She passed away after quietly fighting mental illness.
Kerri is survived by her husband Stuart Harris, daughters Grayson and Maryn Harris, parents Joseph (J.W.) and Myrtle Wilson, sister Amy Brinker and brother-in-law Jason Brinker, sister Shanna Wiggins, sister-in-law Heather Perlberger and brother-in-law Dan Perlberger, and nieces Deanna Spence, Bella Brinker, Jodi Wiggins, Mia Perlberger, Sophie Wiggins, and Zoey Wiggins.
Kerri was preceded in death by her Grandparents E.A. and Edna Howard, Joseph Walter Wilson, Jr. and Harriette Wilson, in-laws Lesley and Regina Harris, brother-in-law Davis "Brent" Wiggins, Aunt Irene Wilson, Uncle Tommy Allen, and brother-in-law Denny Spence.
Kerri was raised in Kinston, NC where she graduated from North Lenoir High School. She attended Lenoir Community College where she played softball. Kerri graduated from UNC Wilmington with a BS in Nursing and spent the majority of her 29-year nursing career at New Hanover Regional Medical Center working as a nurse and RN Case Manager.
Kerri had a kind, warm, caring soul, and was beloved by all. Described by family, friends, and her work family as special, sweet, intelligent, and beautiful both inside and out. She had a tremendous network of people who loved her, and this was a testament to her kind spirit and beautiful soul. Kerri loved her work family and spoke fondly of them and the bond they had together. Kerri also had a "soccer family" that she was very close with and cared about. Kerri had several extremely close friends, including Bobbi Wessels, whom she loved as much as her family. She appreciated her friends and family more than they will ever know.
A graveside service will be held Friday December 27 at 12pm at Oakdale Cemetery located at 520 N 15th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401. This will follow a private family ceremony at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation Chapel located at 1535 S 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403.
