Kerrie Lyn Orton Neria left this world Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the young age of 50. Known to family as “Kerr-Bear” and “Bugsy,” Kerrie was spirited, independent, and strong-willed…she lived her life to the fullest on her terms.

Kerrie was born on February 10, 1973, in Ogden, Utah to Gordon Terry Orton and Karen LaRose. Kerrie’s childhood into early adulthood was spent playing several sports that were her passion…basketball, softball, and soccer, although she was particularly fond of BMX racing. Kerrie was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Colorado Rockies.

Being a member of the Uintah Band of Utah Indians, Kerrie held her heritage close to her heart, and she encouraged the same devotion in her own children. She loved spending time camping and being outdoors as that’s where she found peace.

At 20, she married Charles “Chuck” Jordet and the two became parents to Kyrstian and Triston. Years after divorcing, Kerrie would find her soulmate in Robert William Neria, with whom she shared one son, Colton. Following Rob’s passing, Kerrie struggled to find her place, but she never gave up, nor let disappointments keep her down. Kerrie was a hard worker, driving construction trucks for Stakers, Parsons, and Kilgore, and loved her job. She was always interested in engines and followed in the footsteps of her mechanic grandfather and uncle, often working on cars as a hobby. On numerous occasions, she was called on to help siblings, family, and friends with various mechanical needs.

At her best, Kerrie was very accepting of others, always forgiving, ready for fun, and humorous, with a smile and laugh that lit up every room.

Kerrie leaves behind her three children whom she loved dearly, Kyrstian Lynn Jordet (Josh Spencer) of Ogden, Triston Garth Jordet of Hyrum, and Robert Colton Neria of Ogden, as well as two treasured grandchildren, Linley and Oliver. She is also survived by both her parents and stepparents, Terry and Hollie Orton of Star Valley, Wyoming and Karen and Vonn Davis of North Ogden; as well as siblings, Kim Stone (Scott), Kirk Orton (Sydnie), Kody Davis (Megan), and Lindsey Brinton (Alex).

A small graveside service has been planned for immediate family members followed by a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 5 p.m. at Lions Club Park, 4350 W 2575 N St, Plain City, Utah.

Kerrie, rest in peace…you’ve earned it. We love you and will miss you until we meet again.
