Obituary published on Legacy.com by J. L. Davis Funeral Home on Dec. 30, 2025.
Kerry Kay Ayers, daughter of Paul Kephart and Virgie Dagenhart, stepdaughter of Ernest Dagenhart, passed from this life at home, into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 24th, 2025.

Kay was born at home in Brunswick MD on September 5th, 1944, and lived in Brunswick along with her brother Jerry Kephart and her sister Merry Kephart before moving to Boonsboro, MD where she grew up.

Kay was an active member of the Williamsport Redmen Redfeather Council 59 as well as being a member of the Nascar Club and the Dart League. Kay was also a member of the Williamsport Moose Lodge 2462.

Kay enjoyed spending time with her family and friends riding motorcycles, throwing darts, or just sitting down with friends and family for conversation. She also enjoyed going to dances with her husband, Bobby.

Kay was a warm, generous and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had many names that friends and family referred to her such as Mom, Muz, Gertie, Gram, Nanny and Nanny Kay.

Throughout her life, she had many careers; She was employed by the Sheraton Inn in the Accounting Department, she worked at Fairchild Aircraft as a Fiberglass Prep Technician, Fleetwood Travel Trailers in the Cabinet Shop, Dover Inlay as a Marquetery Craftsman and she spent many years performing Home Health Care.

Kay is survived by her husband of many years, Robert Lee Ayers Sr., her son, Jeffrey Whipp, her daughter, Tonja Ryan, her stepson, Robert Ayers Jr., her stepdaughter, Jenny Spoonire, her adopted son, Tony Bellasai and her sister, Merry Rohrer. She is also survived by 6 other children, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and her brother Jerry.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to her Hospice caregivers. Much love and appreciation go out to Caitlyn B., Marlee E. and Stephanie H. for all of the loving and attentive care that they provided to Kay during her illness.

At Kay's request, there will be no immediate public services, but a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at the family's convenience.

When life has ended, my time has run out.

My friends and my loved ones, I'll leave them no doubt.

But one thing for certain, when it comes my time.

I'll leave this old world with a satisfied mind.
