Glenn Pierce Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J. L. Davis Funeral Home on Jan. 27, 2026.
Glenn Mitchell Pierce, 75, of Shepherdstown, WV, passed away peacefully Friday, January 23, 2026 at Hospice of the Panhandle, Kearneysville, WV, surrounded by loving family.

Born on September 7, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Lillian (Seiler) and Harry Pierce.

Glenn lived a life shaped by hard work, service, and love for family, friends, and country.

As a young man, Glenn joined the U.S. army where he proudly served in Germany as a medic. He spoke often and fondly of his service, joking that while he never saw combat, he spent many nights caring for others and 'patching up drunk soldiers.'

After his military service, Glenn continued to serve others by volunteering as a Firefighter and EMT. He would later pass that passion onto his grandson, Gabe.

Medicine became a passion for Glenn. He took pride in moments when his training truly made a difference, one highlight being saving the life of a baby who was in distress. Long after his military service, he was excited to share his medical knowledge and stories with friends and family alike.

The bulk of Glenn's career was spent in the building industry where he gained an almost encyclopedic knowledge of home building and repair. Throughout his life he was always happy to help friends and family with questions, repairs, or projects.

There was never any doubt about where Glenn stood on an issue. Whether it was the news of the day, cars, or the proper way to prepare a steak, Glenn was never shy about sharing his opinion; something those who knew him will remember with affection.

Glenn was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his pride in helping others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy. He is survived by his brother Kurt; his daughters Jennifer and Erin; his grandchildren Shannon, Joseph, Casey, Mary, Matthias, Gabe, Charlotte, and William; and his great-grandchildren Freya, Emersen, and Jace.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 9 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 4272 Charles Town Rd. Kearneysville, WV 25430, with Pastor Craig Bush officiating.

Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA at 12 PM.
