Kerry Lee Bickerstaff

On Sunday morning, March 23, 2025 Kerry Lee Bickerstaff went home to Jesus.
Kerry was born on October 17,1967 in Missouri. His parents, J.L. and Dorothy Bickerstaff preceded him to Heaven. Kerry attended SMU in Dallas and began a deep love for all things Texas. Kerry married Paula Kay Wilburn on July 1, 1995 in Missouri. Their 30th anniversary planning brought great joy and excitement.
On November 5, 1997 Bailey Catherine Bickerstaff was born and created our family of 3– Kerry's favorite number. In 1996, Kerry left the family jewelry store business in Missouri to become a corporate pilot. He flew across America, Canada, and Mexico and loved every tiring moment. His skills and knowledge and wisdom made him a trusted co-pilot and employee.
Kerry's family moved to Texas in 2007. He rode in regular cycling races, even competing at the state level. In recent years, he took up running– enjoying runs with his neighbor and friend and looking forward to races with Bailey.
Watching Bailey grow into a beautiful woman filled Kerry with such pride and joy. He loved her with all his being.
Kerry's walk with God began during his college years and he never wavered in complete faith and devotion. About 6 years ago, Kerry began leading a Sunday School class at Colonial Hills Baptist Church. He researched, studied, and listened to God earnestly every week. Sharing those lessons with his friends and family filled him with purpose, hope, and great happiness. He was beginning to prepare to teach at Flint Baptist Church and was already gathering ideas.
Kerry Bickerstaff was a man who listened well, spoke wisely, loved fiercely, worked diligently, and trusted God completely. He will be forever missed.
Services for Kerry Bickerstaff of Tyler will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 2:00PM at Flint Baptist Church in Flint with Rev. Sam DeVille and Rev. Park Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joel Enge, Rex Johnson, Wade Ricks, David Starrett, Dennis Taylor, and Tim Young. Honorary pallbearers will be James Finch of Kennett, Missouri.
