Kersten Lorraine Reuter was born on December 15, 2003, in Rolla, Missouri. She was one of three children born to Stephen and Sarah (Boyle) Reuter. From the day she entered this world, she filled the lives of everyone around her with joy.
Kersten grew up in Viburnum and graduated in 2022 from Viburnum High School. In her early high school years, she played basketball and volleyball. She was a talented saxophone player in played in the high school band. After high school, Kersten started online classes through Mineral Area College working towards obtaining her Information Technology (IT) Degree. She was an incredibly smart hardworking student with all A's.
Kersten embraced life and loved deeply, whether it was her friends, family, or her boyfriend, Alex McClelland. She loved spending time with Alex, who made her glow with happiness whenever they were together. She cherished her tight-knit family, adoring her mom, dad, brothers, stepsiblings, grandparents, and cousins. Kersten enjoyed making memories with them.
A talented and creative soul, Kersten had a deep passion for art, crafts, and drawing. She was incredibly artistic and enjoyed expressing herself through her drawings and gifting them to others. She loved listening to music, mainly heavy metal, as well as watching scary movies and murder documentaries. Kersten liked the outdoors and was often found at The Falls or at the golf course fishing.
At a young age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and attended Macedonia United Baptist Church. Kersten was a remarkable friend. Her genuine warmth and unconditional love extended beyond family, embracing all who crossed her path with kindness.
Kersten entered eternal rest on March 3, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of twenty-one years. She is survived by her loving mother: Sarah Johnson and husband Marty of Boss, MO; father: Stephen Reuter and wife Tabitha of Boss, MO; brothers: Bailey Reuter and girlfriend Mya and Gavin Reuter; stepsiblings: Morgan Wisdom and husband Thomas, Talon Johnson, Alex Johnson, Lexi Johnson, Tyra James, Rachel James, Miranda Heath and husband Brian, and Alana James; grandparents: Martha Mathes, Chris Boyle Sr. and wife Ruthy, and Karen and Larry Brooks; great-grandparents: Bill and Marcella Mathes and Norma Johnson; nephew: Dutton Reuter; niece: Aspen Wisdom; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her boyfriend: Alex McClelland; grandfather: Stephen Johnson; grandmother: Gladys Brooks; and uncles: Marvin Mathes and Andrew Boyle.
Kersten was the light of her family's life. Her vibrant, funny, sassy, spunky, and joy-filled heart will continue to shine bright in the lives of those who loved her most. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.
Funeral Services for Kersten Lorraine Reuter were held Saturday, March 8, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with her great-grandfather Bill Mathes officiating. Special Music was provided by her grandmother Martha Mathes and Pat Connors. Serving as Pallbearers were Bailey Reuter, Gavin Reuter, Ethan Boyle, Austin Boyle, Talon Johnson, and Alex Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers were Dutton Reuter, Chris Rueter, Keith Rueter, Chris Boyle Jr., Brian Vaillancourt, and Jamie Wilkinson. Burial was in the Boss Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Viburnum, Missouri.
Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Kersten Reuter to Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
