Keta Beth Christians, 89, died February 3, 2025, at Aster Estates Home Plus, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born May 8, 1935, in Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Pernecia (Smiley) Marquis.
On July 19, 1953, she married Clarence Ray Christians in Beaver, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2015.
A lifetime Hoisington resident, Keta worked at First National Bank until the kids were born and then she was a full-time mother and farm wife. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing all of the kids' clothes, from bridesmaids and prom dresses and even suits. She also made many quilts and crocheted afghans that she gifted to friends and family. Her piano talents were also passed down along several generations.
She is survived by: a daughter, Patti Madden and husband Manley of Great Bend; son, Ray Christians and wife Tina of Hoisington; four grandchildren, Brooke Cherven of Cadillac, Michigan, Robin Linsner and husband Todd of Hoisington, Justin Christians of Hoisington, and Scott Christians and wife Missy of Hoisington; seven great-grandchildren, Paxtin, Kaiden, and Jennica Cherven, Braxton, Kassie, and Lilly Linsner, and Tinley Christians; and one great-great granddaughter, Korra Beth Crawford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Wayne Lee, and son, Michael D. Christians.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Rhonda Templing SAM presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington, Kansas.
