Kevin E. Bauer, a lifelong resident of Ringwood, Illinois, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday November 9, 2025.
He was born on October 27, 1951 in Woodstock, IL to parents Roland and Georgia (Schmitt) Bauer.
A true man of the land, Kevin was a proud generational farmer who carried on his family's farming legacy and passed that same love and dedication to his children and grandchildren. His passion for farming was matched only by his commitment to his community, serving faithfully on the Ringwood Board of Trustees 22 years.
Alongside his life on the farm, Kevin worked for ComEd for 36 years. Kevin enjoyed the pleasures of; motorcycling, snow mobiles, softball, tractor treks, cruising the Caribbean, Annual Farmers Christmas Party and spending time with those he loved most. Known for always giving 200% in everything he was involved in, and dragging his friends along with him. Kevin will be remembered for his generosity, humor, and the way he made everyone feel like family.
Above all, Kevin's greatest joy was his family. His legacy will live on through the values he instilled, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 53 years Lynn Bauer, his children, Steven (Elisa) Bauer, Chad (Michele) Bauer, his grandchildren Ellie, Ava, Grace, and Luke, as well as his siblings, cousins, many extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday Nov 12, 2025 3:00pm-7:00pm. Mass will be held on Thursday November 13, 2025 at Christ the King Church at 1:00pm. Burial to follow at the Ringwood Cemetery.
Donations can be made in Kevin's name to the McHenry County Fair Foundation P.O. Box 375 or to the McHenry County Farm Bureau P.O. Box 1530.

So very sad to read this news. Wishing I had learned about this sooner as I would have welcomed an opportunity to attend the services and celebrate Kevin´s life with mutual friends/co-workers I worked with Kevin at the Crystal Lake office
We would joke around about having spouses with the same names. Sending sincere condolences to his family and anyone who had the privilege of knowing Kevin. I will see if I can find a pic from United Way Employee Campaign to share.
