Kevin Burtyk

Kevin Timothy Burtyk, age 58, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Ohio State University Hospital. On September 1, 1985, Kevin's life changed as the result of an automobile accident at the age of 18. He was a recent graduate of Hartley High School at the time. He would later say, my body may be paralyzed, but not my mind. He would end up getting an associates degree from Columbus State, using his Dragon Dictate and Auto Cad, eventually designing homes from his love of architecture. He worked at DCSC during his younger years and it was his dream to also follow in the footsteps of his father and join the military. He will be dearly missed by everyone who shared in his journey through life. Preceded in death by, father, John Peter Burtyk, uncle, Carl Peterson. Survived by, loving and devoted mother, Judy Burtyk, his very caring brother with whom he shared a brotherly love, John Paul Burtyk, nephews, Brandon Burtyk and Christopher Burtyk, aunts, Linda (Don) Bires and Carolyn Mosher, uncle, Roger Peterson, sister-in-law, Paula Peterson, numerous other family and friends. Private family arrangements have been completed with JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St. Inurnment Franklin Hills Cemetery, at a later date.
