Kevin Baron Carter Sr. Sr.

Kevin Baron Carter Sr., lovingly known to many as KC or K9, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He was born on October 4, 1959 in Jackson County, Kansas City, Missouri.

Kevin was a man of many talents and passions. He spent much of his life working with his hands-building, creating, and leaving his mark across Detroit through his work in furniture and construction. His craftsmanship remains a testament to his dedication and skill. In later years, Kevin discovered a love for music. He became an artist, pouring his heart into the studio and sharing his songs with those he loved. Most recently, he founded a landscaping company, continuing his lifelong commitment to creativity and hard work.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneon E. Carter Sr. and Anita M. Virgil-Davie and his first born daughter, Kelly. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength carried on by his children: Kevin, Karen, Kamil, Joel and Amario; his bonus children: Amber, Ashley, and August; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; his brothers, Kenneon Carter Jr. and Denton Carter, and their spouses; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish his memory.

Kevin's warmth, spirit, and resilience touched many lives. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
