Kevin Alexander Cooper, aka Cole Summers, age 14, unexpectedly passed away on June 11, 2022 in Newcastle, Utah. Kevin was born on October 12, 2007 in West Valley, Utah. He spent most of his life in a small town in Southern Utah where he was able to accomplish in 14 years what it takes most other people a life time to do.
To say that Kevin was ambitious would be an understatement. At the age of 7 Kevin started his first business breeding, raising and selling meat rabbits. He learned how to repair vehicles, and a few years later he studied how to buy land and purchased a 350 acre ranch. He also purchased another piece of land that had a home on it that was in much need of repair, and through his studies online he was able to teach himself how to remodel that home.
He wrote an autobiography at the age of 14 and had plans in place to make a movie, with any proceeds going to help fund his regenerative agriculture projects. Kevin had big plans of helping to restore the underground aquifers where he lived and did a lot of study and research on how to make it happen. Kevin was very ambitious and had a love for hard work, but mostly Kevin loved his family and would do anything to make sure that their needs were met.
He was a big influence online with his unschooling efforts and inspired many with his great example and accomplishments. With all that he was able to accomplish he was a very humble kid who just went about doing good, and blessed many lives because of it. He will be missed immensely but his impact will be felt for many years to come. Thank you Kevin! We love you!
Kevin is survived by his Mother, Father, older brother, and many close friends. A memorial service will be held on July 9th at the Beryl Community Center. We ask that there be no press, media, or cameras present.
If you are interested in learning more about Kevin and his accomplishments, order his book called "Don't Tell Me I Can't." You wont be disappointed.

I have already written in the memory book about the great impact Kevin has had on me. I just want the family to know that despite the passage of time, I still think of him often and especially when passing through St. George, like today. I pray that Kevin´s family has found some measure of peace. I wish there were more kids like Kevin in this world. Please know that he, nor your family is not forgotten. I live in Salt Lake City and if there is anything I could do to help, please reach out. I read his book again, and my heart still aches reading about all his plans for the future. God bless.

I can't tell you how deeply Kevin's story has touched me. I watched the videos of Kevin talking about the Veteran Administration's flawed housing assistance eligibility program and was in awe that I was listening to a 14yr old who is clearly so advanced beyond his years. The goodness and genuineness that radiated from him is so apparent. A boy who is so eager to help his family, help the environment, help his community all through self learning and hard work. What a rare gem Kevin is. I'm so sad that the world didn't get to see the potential achievements of this amazing boy. Although, I can honestly say, he achieved more in his short time here than most adults ever do. I didn't even know him and was moved to tears reading about his tragic accident. I can only imagine the loss your family is feeling. I have ordered his autobiography and hope that you can feel the love of total strangers like myself who didn't even know him, yet feel devastated that we lost such a bright light much too young. God bless you for raising such an amazing son.

I just listened to radio talk show host Kate Dalley tell the story of Kevin's life. It moved me to tears. I homeschooled my 7 children. I saw first had how much more valuable the experience was to our family. Your Kevin took it all the way. What a wonderful young man. I'm so sorry for losing him far, far, FAR too soon.

I was so inspired to read the article about your son and brother! What a sharp mind and thank goodness you fostered and helped him grow by supporting his genius! I am ordering his book on amazon and getting copies for my kids as well (all adults now) for Christmas as well. When we put our time, talent, energy and efforts into good things lives are blessed! Kevin certainly blessed and his example will continue to bless many. May you feel the love of our Heavenly Father and His son during this difficult time.

I just finished reading Daryl Gibson's article on Kevin, "America´s most remarkable kid died in Newcastle, Utah - his legacy never will". And I have to agree, what Kevin accomplished in his short life was amazing. It's such a loss for his family and society. I wish I could have met him. Rest in peace Kevin, your story and what you accomplished in 14 years is a standard we should all strive to achieve.

I am deeply moved by your son's accomplishments and zest to help your family and goodness. I am also very saddened by his loss of life. Losing a son is not something that any of us should have to endure. Please know that my sincere sorrow and hope you a better future for you all is real! God Bless you family.
