Mr. Kevin Phillip Danley, Sr., 50, of Ararat, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Mr. Danley was born May 6, 1975, in Surry County, the younger of two children born to the Rev. Frank Phillip Danley and the late Sylvia Jean Crotts Danley. A hardworking and dedicated individual, Kevin was best known as the owner and operator of Danley Floor Covering, a trusted floor covering business that served the community for many years. Through his work, he helped turn countless houses into homes, always with an eye for detail and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Outside of work, Kevin had a deep appreciation for the past and a well-trained eye for timeless beauty. He loved local antiques and sharing the stories behind them. He found meaning and value in what others might overlook. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Amanda Reneé Dean Danley; his children, Kevin Phillip Danley, Jr., Kendra Jenkins (Austin), Andrew Wall, Natalie Danley, and Madison Freeman (Jacob); his grandchildren which he adored, Bentley Freeman, John Danley, Elizabeth Jenkins, and Paisleigh Freeman; one granddaughter on the way; a sister, Shelby Scales; a nephew, Raleigh Scales (Maria); and a niece, Savannah Branch (Jody). The funeral service will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at New Beginning Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Danley, the Rev. Kevin Jenkins, the Rev. Philip Adams, and the Rev. Jack Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the church.
