Kevin Richard Devenney, age 50, of Marshall died Wednesday morning, May 4, 2011 at Carelink of Jackson, Jackson, Michigan. Mr. Devenney was born on November 22, 1960 in Marshall to Homer E. and Martha W. (Alexander) Devenney. He was a life long resident of the Marshall area and was a graduate of Marshall High School, class of 1978. Kevin had been employed by the Walker - Tenneco Automotive Company in Marshall. He served the company for over twelve years working as the Shipping Clerk. He took an early retirement in 1997, due to health problems. On August 19, 1995, he married the former Christine Margaret Kenyon in Marshall. Kevin was a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge #676 and participated in its bowling and pool leagues. He enjoyed camping, fishing and biking. Following the lost of his eye sight, he began doing woodworking. He lovingly made jewelry boxes and fine furniture for his family. He is survived by his wife, Christine "Chris" Devenney; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Devenney of Fort Wayne, IN and Jaime Lynn Devenney at home; mother, Martha Warsop of Marshall; a brother, Larry (Jackie) Devenney of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Devenney. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremations Services, Marshall. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
