Kevin Michael Edwards

Mr. Kevin Michael "Mike" Edwards, aged 74, passed away on May 31, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Milo Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating and Rev. Jamie Griffin assisting. Interment will follow at Milo Cemetery. In honoring Mike's spirit, those attendance may wear OU t-shirts or NY Yankees gear for his love of the sports he enjoyed watching. The arrangements are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

Born on February 23, 1951, in Duncan, OK, Mike was the son of the late Mr. Floyd D. Edwards and Mrs. Betty June (Bell) Edwards. Raised in Duncan and Waurika, he graduated from Duncan High School in 1970 and cherished his time playing football as a linebacker.

In 1975, Mike relocated to Healdton to pursue opportunities in the oilfield with his best friend, Jerry Kincannon. Shortly thereafter, he met Ollie Marie Doughty, whom he married on September 10, 1976. Together they raised their beloved daughter, Misty, near Fox. As an entrepreneur, Mike owned and operated Edwards Oil Production and was known for his enthusiasm for OU football and NY Yankees baseball.

A man of faith, Mike was baptized at Ratliff City Baptist Church by Bro. Bill Florez on December 27, 1981. Three and a half years ago, he moved to Norman to be closer to the excitement of OU football games, where he enjoyed attending concerts, and watching services faithfully from Milo Baptist Church online.  Mike was very outgoing and never met a stranger and was a family man.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ollie Marie Edwards on May 27, 2019, and his grandson, Cameron Nelson. He is survived by his daughter, Misty (Edwards) Nelson, and grandson, Creed Nelson of Norman; siblings Harriet McCarthy of Duncan, Dennis Edwards and wife Rahe of Sulphur, Lynn Griffith and husband Leroy of Lone Grove, and Tommy D Edwards and wife Rachelle of Wichita Falls, TX; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Pallbearers for the service will be Creed Nelson, Ethan Ochoa, Zac Simmons, Julian Perez, Jerry Kincannon, and David Bussey. Honorary bearers include Joe Jennings, Teddy Warren, and Leroy Griffith.
