Kevin Tyrone Gongre

Mr. Kevin Tyrone Gongre, a lifelong resident of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away in Winnfield in December of 2025. He was born on Friday, June 17, 1966, in Winnfield, and lived his entire life among the family, friends, and familiar places he cherished.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Keator and Irene Gongre and Basil "Shorty" and Sybil Guin, as well as his uncle, David Glenn Gongre.

Left to honor his memory are his father, Milton Tyrone Gongre; his mother, Betty Guin of Montgomery, LA; his siblings, Shannon Gray and Cody Gongre; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica Kay, Cadence Gongre, and Hunter Gongre. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who will remember him fondly.

Kevin enjoyed a long working career as an assistant manager in retail sales, where he was known for his reliability, dedication, and friendly nature. Outside of work, he had a wide range of interests. He was an avid fisherman, especially fond of Saline Creek, and he found joy in exploring astrology and meteorology. Kevin also loved to cook and took great pleasure in preparing meals for those around him.

Funeral services will be held at Hargis Baptist Church on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Alan LaCroix officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Gongre, Hunter Gongre, Shane Hyde, Aubrey Hyde, Kade Mangham, and Dane Collins.

Interment will follow at St. Maurice Cemetery.
