Kevin HALL Obituary

Spokane - Our beloved big brother, uncle, husband, and friend left on Tuesday, June 25, at 71. He was born in Spokane, WA, on May 28, 1953, to Leon and Joan J. Hall. A true outdoorsman, Kevin was happiest when he was fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time on the water. He loved exploring the wilderness and enjoyed seeking out new spots to hunt, fish, and pick huckleberries. Kevin had a variety of hobbies including fly tying and photography. He was a collector of old things, including fishing lures, knives, tools, art, and glassware. He was sentimental in keeping family heirlooms. Kevin was a lover of animals and enjoyed his pets, especially Izzy, Prada, and Shadow. The family cabin at Deer Lake is where he found peace. He enjoyed many weekends and celebrations with family and friends. Most often, he could be found sitting in the boat house, enjoying the view while reading a book, and sipping on a cup of coffee or glass of scotch. Fishing with his brother, Brian, and nephews, Stacy and Tyler, was one of his greatest joys. Kevin married Julie Shepard in July 2010 and his family grew to include her daughter, Erica, and granddaughter, Taija. They enjoyed traveling together and oftentimes, Taija would join them on their explorations. Kevin treasured his childhood friendships with Wayne Mason, Jeff Lindholm, and Marc Kastl. He loved to reminisce about their adventures growing up together. Kevin is survived by his sister, Jennifer Hall; brother, Brian Hall (Trudy); sister, Elizabeth HallThies (Todd); nephews, Stacy Bruce (Sasha) and Tyler Bruce; and great-niece, Vesta Bruce; as well as his uncle, John Hall, who he greatly admired. He is also survived by his wife, Julie Shepard-Hall, Erica Shepard, and Taija Nelms. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Kevin's life on Saturday, July 27, at noon at 7241 N. Fotheringham St., in Spokane.

Kevin was a friend for 50 years. Fishing at the Hall cabin, camping and fishing at sheep creek, Priest Lake , twin lakes, up at my cabin at Anderson Lake where he came up for visits over 20 years. We decided to take up rafting 4 man and 6 man in the 1980s and rafted the spokane river and the Kettle River with over 100 other rafters.Kevin was a craftsman of sorts and helped with differnt projects i would have around my cabin and different homes I lived from roofing , carpets , framing, and working on our pick ups and chain saws. Jeff , Vern , Mark , and I would shoot pool , drink beers, and sing our favorite songs till the well past midnight in younger years, and later going to the Blues Festivals around the different areas . Great Memories will never be forgotten.Rest in Peace my friend. Wayne and Jeannine Mason.
