Kevin Hunter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Independent Professional Services Mortuary & Crematory - Salt Lake City on Dec. 31, 2025.
What do you say about a man whose soul danced with stardust, created entire worlds with words, and whose brain was made to catch lightning? A storyteller, a dreamer, and a man who told off

god for the making of the universe - "I just kicked over a can, oops".

Kevo was born June 24th, 1981, to Barbara Hunter and Ronald Hunter, named Kevin Raymond Hunter. He preferred to be known as Kevo and lamented that he didn't receive the familial middle name of Owen. He was a fierce friend and passionate about human connection, he would talk to anyone and everyone no matter where he was or the context. He was a lover of tea and coffee and lived a significant chunk of his life in coffee shops and diners. In 2009 he was diagnosed with MS and his whole world and life changed. Slowly he lost his ability to dance, and his mind was ravaged by a series of thunderstorms. He ultimately lost the battle with his body and, after fighting off infection at every front, he passed peacefully surrounded by his mom, his sisters, and one of his nieces. In true Kevo fashion, he waited for mom to be in the bathroom to leave.

Keep dancing Kevo, you are loved, and you will be missed. Thank you for being a friend.

Friends and family, please join us for a not-so-traditional Scottish wake where we swap stories and have tea.
