Dear Lisa and family,
We unfortunately just heard the news about Kevin. We wanted to express our sincere condolences to you and the family. We knew Kevin for many years as he towed our camper in the spring and fall. We have very fond memories talking with him. He was a very kind hearted and caring person. He was always talking about his family and the boys and how they were doing in sports and in life.
Sincerely,
Carl & Rosanna Rutter

We met Kevin a few years ago when he and Lisa moved our camper
From Long Island to carver Massachusetts. I never thought Kevin would be able to get the 5th wheel into our campsite. I was like no way is that going to fit. Kevin proves me wrong he got it to fit like a glove. He also helped set up the camper. We were able to talk to Kevin on the ferry ride. We remained friends ever since. Kevin helped move our camper a few times after that and helped us with much more. Kevin was always willing to help no matter what. He called us just to say hi. He would always stop to see us at the campground when he was driving through. Yes Kevin always had stories to tell. One saying he always said with his stories was “this and that”. Kevin always talked about his family. Will never forget Kevin and how he made us feel when we were together. We talked about going fishing sometime. We will miss the random calls from Kevin and hearing his dually truck going by our camper and stopping. Our hearts are broken. Such a wonderful man whose life stopped too soon. Kisses and hugs to the family. Lisa we will always be here for you.

Dear Lisa, David, Joshua and Nicholas,
I am so very, very sorry to hear that we have lost Kevin. We first met when we were 12 years old at Taunton Catholic Middle School and we became good friends. His nickname back then was "Kingbird". We played hundreds of hours of basketball together at the Taunton YMCA, at TCMS, and then later on the Taunton High School freshman and JV basketball teams. We were in the same math class in high school 4 years in a row and would occasionally get together to study if we were dealing with difficult new material.
Kingbird was a terrific, terrific guy, a generous soul, and such a fun person to be with! We had many adventures together. The two that I remember the most are when we skipped school one day during our sophomore year and went canoeing on the Taunton River out by the brickyard. I lost my balance and tipped the canoe over so we got soaked. He never got upset and we just built a fire on shore to dry ourselves. (Later that day, my mom wondered why I smelled like smoke). The other one I remember vividly is the time I went waterskiing with him when I had a separated shoulder that was in a sling. I was reluctant to go waterskiing with one arm, but he said, "Don't worry, if you go down, I'll jump in and save you!"
The last time I had a chance to talk with Kingbird was when he came to my mother's wake in 1996. I am so, so glad to learn that he and Lisa have been sharing and enjoying a wonderful life together over the past 24 years.
David, Joshua and Nicholas: there are many, many people you will never meet whose lives were enriched and made better because they met your father.
My memories of Kingbird are happy ones. And they remain fresh in my mind. I will always, always remember him fondly.
