Kevin “Buddy” Doyle Lloyd passed away on December 7, 2025, in Farmington, Utah. He was born on November 2, 1963, the firstborn child of Doyle and Shirley Johnson Lloyd, in Bountiful, Utah.

Kevin was a special son of our Heavenly Father. Born with Down Syndrome, raised by loving parents and cared for by his sisters throughout his life. Each life he touched was touched for good. He came to this earth not to be tested but to show us all how to love unconditionally. He is now free of the limitations that hindered his earthly life. He was loved and adored by all that knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Kevin attended Monte Vista School in Farmington, Utah, and graduated when he was 20 years old. He participated in the Special Olympics and received gold medals in track, basketball and swimming. He then went to Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center (PARC) in Clearfield, Utah, which he greatly enjoyed. He was then employed at the Jennie P. Stewart Elementary School in Centerville, Utah, as a kitchen helper in the school lunch program for 22 years from 1982 to 2004. He loved the cooks who were surrogate mothers to him. In 2004 he went back to PARC until 2012 when he retired.

Kevin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and participated in the Special Needs Primary and the Special Needs Mutual, now the Special Needs Activity Program (SNAP). The high point of each year was the annual production of SNAP. This was his opportunity to shine, and “Shine” he did. Everyone enjoyed his love of dancing, and Kevin couldn’t help but dance when the music came on! He also loved his calling as a greeter in the Havenwood Ward in Kaysville, Utah.

Kevin lived in group home services since November of 2024 and had one of the best years of his life! He worked with wonderful caregivers, attended a day program, and went to Lagoon. Our family is grateful to Forever You and 2getherAs1 plus the many others that have cared for him in the last year and helped us provide our Buddy with a more independent and purposeful life.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bristol Hospice, especially his nurses Dee and Shadd and his aides for the loving care given to our brother in his last days.

Kevin is survived by his sisters Annette Davidson, Suzanne (Clint) Sherman and Amanda Lloyd. Uncle Buddy is also survived by his niece and 4 nephews and their spouses and his 14 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his adored friend and case manager Denise Cook. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother-in-law Dean Davidson.

If he was still here Kevin would love to give everyone a big bear hug saying “gimme a hug” and “I love you!”

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah. Graveside services will be held at Bountiful City Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. following the celebration of life.
