Kevin M. Magee, 47, passed away on October 27, 2023, due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident in 1993 at the age of 17. Kevin sustained a traumatic brain injury and fought a courageous and very difficult battle living with many disabilities as a result of the accident.
Born in Beverly on April 8, 1976, he was the beloved son of Kendall and Gail (VanGeyte) Magee of Topsfield. Kevin was raised in Topsfield and attended Masconomet Regional High School. He was an avid hockey player since the age of 7 and went to play on Masco's varsity team. Kevin was very athletic and enjoyed skateboarding, rollerblading, wrestling and weightlifting. Kevin also loved music.
Kevin had resided at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers since 2014. Kevin was very much loved and will be greatly missed by staff and those who became Kevin's second family.
In addition to his parents, Kendall and Gail, he is survived by three brothers, Scott and his wife Jennifer of Middleton and Brian and Michael of Topsfield, his nieces and nephews, Mikayla, Jackson, Brinley, Scotty, Kevin and Jace, his uncles and aunts, Gilbert and Pat VanGeyte of Boxford, Gary VanGeyte of Haverhill and Cassandra and Richard Abood of Candia, NH, his dear friend Dianne Maihos and several cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Gilbert and Ann VanGeyte and Sumner and Barbara Magee.
His funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45AM Friday morning in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited. Graveside services are private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Kevin's name to Friends of Hathorne, P.O. Box A, Hathorne, MA, 01937.
