BOXFORD – Mr. Manuel J. DeSouza Jr., 64 of Boxford, beloved husband of Susan E. (Coccoluto) DeSouza, died unexpectedly, Monday, March 17th, 2025 at Mass General Hospital in Boston following a brief illness.
Born in Utica, New York, he was the son of the late Manuel J. Sr. and Mercedes G. (Gonsalves) DeSouza. He was raised and educated in Boxford and was a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School, class of 1979. He continued his education at University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth where he earned his bachelor's degree as a member of the class of 1985.
Mr. DeSouza was the co-founder and longtime co-owner of N & D Landscape Services of Georgetown. He was well respected professionally for his work ethic and his honest approach to his business. He had a true deep-down passion for his career and with the help of his friends, built a large and successful company.
A life long resident of the Town of Boxford, Manny was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend. He was easy to like and made friends where ever he went. He has friends from all stages of his life, which have all become lifelong.
An avid golfer, he enjoyed hitting the links and enjoying his home in Naples, Florida and in the winter was an avid skier.
Manny took his greatest pride as being a husband father and provider for his family. One of his greatest joys was providing opportunities for his children and he was ultimacy proud of his children. He enjoyed life and lived with zero regrets. He lived every moment to the fullest, whether that was working or playing, nothing was left behind, because Manny gave his all in everything.
Manny is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Susan E. (Coccoluto) DeSouza of Boxford, his daughter, Gabriella DeSouza of San Jose, California, his son, Manuel A. DeSouza of Boxford, his siblings, Anne DeSouza-Ward and her husband, Jim of Melrose, Laura Seraichick and her husband, Steve of Keene, NH, Susan DeSouza and her husband, Jim Shannon of Bridgeport, Ct, Lisa Gemme and her husband, Bob of Mansfield and Madeline DeSouza of Melrose, his mother-in-law, Angela Coccoluto of Boxford, his sister-in-law, Donna Ericson and her husband, Eric of Marrietta, Georgia, his brother-in-law, James Cardi of Bozeman, Montana and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of Manny's life will be held in the future. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS.
