Dr. Kevin Lewis McCreless, 67, of Rainsville, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
For an extraordinary 33 years, "Brother Kevin" devoted his life to serving Broadway Baptist Church and the surrounding community, exemplifying selfless dedication and unwavering faith. A visionary leader, he guided the church through numerous outreach initiatives and building projects. Brother Kevin possessed a rare gift for connection-sharing in many of life's most joyous celebrations, shouldering others' heaviest burdens, and walking alongside life's big and small moments in between. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Brother Kevin is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Terri McCreless. Together, they lovingly raised their children: Luke (Gretchen) McCreless of Birmingham, and Katie (Austin) Holt of Rainsville. He cherished his four grandchildren: Eloise and Macon McCreless, and Saylor and Reid Holt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Macon and Edna McCreless, and his siblings, Teresa Haun, Donald McCreless, and Randy McCreless.
A memorial service honoring Brother Kevin's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, at the McCreless Worship Center at Broadway Baptist Church in Rainsville, Alabama. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, October 18, from 2:00 to 6:00p.m., also at the McCreless Worship Center.
