Kevin Charles McLeod, affectionately known as "Big Kev," passed away on January 10, 2025. Born on October 3, 1981, in Washington D.C., Kevin brought joy and laughter to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A spirited individual, Kevin was known for his playful nature and infectious laugh. Many will fondly remember the joy he found in playing basketball and bowling. He was light on his feet when roller skating, embodying a sense of fun that was contagious. His love for laughter and joking made him a beloved figure among friends and family alike.
Big Kev's family was of utmost importance to him, and he took great pride in his role as a father to his children, Jaylin, Aubrey, Sierra, and Jasmine McLeod. He is survived by his devoted parents, Java and Thomas Humphreys; and his siblings, Frederica White-Tilley, Andrew Humphreys, Sandra Harrison, Maxine Downer, and Jason Nugent. The love he had for his family was evident in everything he did, and they will carry his spirit with them as they navigate life without his presence.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Nugent and sister, Daniella Renee Humphreys.
Kevin's vivacious personality and unwavering affection for those around him created lasting relationships deeply rooted in love and respect. His laughter will be missed, but the cherished memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will follow at 6:30 pm on Friday, at the funeral home.
