Kevin Jason Morris returned home to the loving arms of his Heavenly Parents and a welcoming embrace of family and friends who finished their earthly journey before him, on June 25th, 2025.

Kevin was the second born son and older brother to two sisters. He was born on May 17th, 1974, to Landy B. and Sandra K. Morris in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Kevin was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission spreading the gospel to the people of San Jose, California.

Upon returning from his mission, he married Amber Joy Vaught. Together they had three children Mariah, Kevin, and McKenna. Kevin and Amber later divorced.

Kevin worked at Lifetime Products as an EMT, then Sunset City Fire as an EMT/firefighter. Kevin later became a Weber County Sheriff’s Deputy. He served the community as a deputy from 2000 to 2020. He was able to retire from the Sheriff’s office at the age of 46. After retirement he worked at FedEx, DHL, and the IRS.

In 2008, Kevin met and married the love of his life, Misty Woods. He gladly took on the position of bonus dad to Misty’s four kids: Bradley, Kyler, MacKenzie, and Davanie. Kevin and Misty were later sealed in the Bountiful Utah LDS temple on May 21st, 2011.

Kevin was a genuine and caring friend. He liked to laugh, was always cracking jokes, and making people laugh. He was often the “butt of the joke” due to his weak stomach and strong gag reflex.

Kevin loved being a dad and was very proud of all of his kids. Becoming a Papa brought Kevin immense joy. He loved all three of his grandbabies, Mira, Enzo, and Baby Dre. Kevin was looking forward to having more grandbabies.

The last five years of Kevin’s life were plagued with many trials and setbacks, including physical and mental health issues. Kevin fought his demons, only to succumb to a bigger, uglier one, Glioblastoma. Kevin became paralyzed on the left side of his body in November of 2024, due to a brain tumor. The brain tumor was removed January 28th, 2025, at the U of U Hospital. Kevin tried to stay positive and not give in to the cancer and fought until his last breath. Kevin will be greatly missed.

Kevin is survived by his (Angel) wife Misty Morris; their children: Mariah (Jordan) Hawes of Kaysville, Bradley (Marja) Woods of Logan, Kevin Morris II of Hillsboro Oregon, McKenna Morris of Layton, Kyler Eggleston of Farr West, MacKenzie (Kade) Black of Brigham City, and Davanie Eggleston of Layton; his three precious grandchildren: Mira Williams, Dre Hawes, and Enzo Berglund; his grandma, Ruby Morris of Farr West; his parents, Landy B. and Sandy K. Morris of South Weber; brother, Clinton (Stephanie) Morris of Layton; sisters, Jaime (Marc) Smith of Clearfield and Kellee Morris of South Weber; his mother-in-law, Diana Woods of Riverdale; sister-in-law, Charity (Ryan) McClain of Roy; brother-in-law, Brandon (Emily) Woods; sister-in-law, Favorite Shantelle (Joee) Witter of Clinton; sister-in-law, Shamra (Jeffry) Johnson of Roy; brother-in-law, Phillip Vanderlaan of Trenton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert G. Woods; his grandparents, Edison and Merle Hufsey, and George Morris; and niece, MaKayla Morris.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sarah Menacho, Dr. Rachna Malani, Dr. Donald Cannon, Dr. Brock Aldrich, Dr. Scott Stevenson, Dr. Benjamin Van Leeuwen, Dr. Joshua Shepherd, the staff at the Craig H Neilsen Rehab Hospital and his team from CNS hospice, RN Andrea, and social worker, Kortney for their compassionate care of Kevin over the past several years.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Plain City LDS 4th Ward, 2335 North 4350 West, Plain City. Friends may visit with family at a Viewing on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be at the Plain City Cemetery.

There is a Charitable/Memorial account in Kevin's name at America First Credit Union and a Go Fund Me https://gofund.me/1259fc6d to help the family cover expenses.
