Kevin you were always a funny guy and it was fun working with you. RIP brother.

Kevin and I were zone partners on the beat in Bonita Springs, Florida. We hit it off immediately, two Irish cops in a Mexican neighborhood, with neither of us able to speak Spanish. We lost track of each other when we both left Lee County, but he tracked me down and reached out just a few weeks before his passing. I didn´t know his death was imminent. We tried to I connect by telephone but, because I am working night shift, we couldn´t find a time that worked. He last emailed on June 12th, and after that my emails and telephone calls went unanswered. I didn´t not say goodbye, but I think that was what he was doing all along. He was a great friend and, as cops do, we shared a few really good war stories together. I have Kevin O´Neill stories I tell all my trainees...good learning experiences, memorable adventures, and-not surprisingly given who Kevin was-hilariously funny. I will miss him.
