Officer Kevin O'Neill

Officer Kevin O'Neill, 57, of Dunnellon, Florida passed away on June 14, 2025, at his cousin's home in Maryland. He was on Hospice service's with JSSA. JSSA organized an event to honor Kevin for his service during 911. Laytonsville Fire Department and a Montgomery County Police Officer were present. It was truly a beautiful event. He was born on May 9, 1968, in Edison, NJ to Lyman and Joanne O'Neill. He was a Police officer in NYC and for Lee County in Florida.
He was known for his commitment to always helping the underdog. Kevin was Irish Catholic with a love of Craic (good times and conversation) and celebrated his Irish heritage every day. Kevin was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed photography. He collected artwork from the artists Kef! and Guy Harvey. He loved listening to the musician Joe Jackson.
He is survived by his sister Sharon O'Neill Cohn (David) of Marietta, GA, his stepdaughter Ariel Thomas of NYC, his cousins: Theresa Cloud Johnson (Andrew) of Laytonsville, MD, Linda Cloud Weinsterin (Cliff) of Rocky Mount, NC, and Brian Cloud (Gloria) of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother Joanne Noone O'Neill, his father Lyman O'Neill, his aunt Patricia Donahue Cloud, his uncle Robert L Cloud, and his cousin Robert T Cloud. He is going to be cremated at Going Home Cremation in Woodbine MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Friends of Rainbow Springs (FORS) in Dunnellon, FL or to JSSA Hospice in Rockville, MD. in Kevin's memory.
