Kevin Ray Powell, age 57, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 5:56 pm Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The family will be hosting a memorial service at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Kevin was born on May 21, 1968, in Hannibal, MO the son of Clifford W. and Juanita Marie Powell, Sr.
Survivors include his son, Cody Wayne (Hannah) Powell of Reedsburg, WI; his daughter, Kaylee Danielle (Luke) McGraw of Cedar Rapids, IA; his brother, Cliff (Roberta) Powell Jr. of Hannibal, MO; his sisters, Sherrill (Dale) Moline of New London, MO and Danette (David) Peele of East Hampton, NY; his grandkids, Riverlynn Powell, Foster Powell, and Asher McGraw; numerous cousins and friends, 10 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his sister Melinda Sue Powell.
Kevin graduated from Hannibal High School in 1986.
He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Kevin enjoyed racing and was a driver and car owner in the micro sprint series, this was a hobby that he shared with his brother Cliff. He loved racing at Jacksonville IL speedway and made many friends including other drivers, fans and race promoter Kenny Dobson. Kevin inherited the "need for speed" from his father who drove sprint cars for 25 years during Kevin's early life. Back in the 90's Kevin was an avid ATV racer, Kevin also enjoyed playing darts on the Hannibal Dart League and hunting.
He loved his family and friends and had a knack for making them all feel loved. He especially enjoyed spending time with his close friend Dustin Robertson and enjoyed many road trips with him.
Kevin had many friends, most of them lifelong friends. His closest friends included Mark Vanwinkle, John Bunn, Jim Boss, Bob Dillon and many more.
Above all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Especially by his sisters, brother, nieces and nephews who were so important to him.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
