Kevin Sullivan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNutt Funeral Home - Conroe on Jan. 6, 2026.
Kevin "Johno" Sullivan, 73, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2026. Kevin is survived by his children, Chrissy Hoffman (Kevin), John L. Sullivan, Amanda Drackett (Robert), Joe Sullivan (Mandy), John Sullivan (Amanda), Katie Blackwell (Luke), and Traci Khalil. He had fifteen grandchildren: Mackenzie, Michaelea, Amiya, EJ, Kennedy, Reagan, Travis, Trenton, Madelyn, Tripp, Bennett, Patrick, Robert, David, and Jordan and three great grandchildren: Rylan, Ozari, and Aliyah. He is also survived by his brother, Mike Sullivan.
Kevin is preceded in death by his wife Cathy M. Sullivan, father Joseph C. Sullivan Sr., mother Elizabeth "Honey" Sullivan, brothers Joseph C Sullivan Jr., John Sullivan, and Harold Sullivan.
Kevin was born in Washington DC on September 5, 1952. He spent most of his youth in North Beach, MD before making his way to Houston, TX in the 1970s where he lived until finally settling in Conroe, TX in 2017.
Kevin was a loving father, devoted husband, dedicated Scoutmaster and a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Often admired for his clever ingenuity, if there was ever something you needed figured out, he was always up for the challenge. After he figured it out, he would proudly remind you, "I still got it!" Kevin always had to have a project to work on, something to tinker with. In the last few months of his life, he was working on a project "trike" with his neighbor and friend, Bill Harrington. He also enjoyed gardening, raising rabbits, and collecting antiques, the rustier the better.
Kevin worked as a plumber for fifty years until 2016 when his wife, Cathy, had an aortic dissection. Being the devoted husband he was, he immediately quit plumbing and became her full-time caretaker. Through all of the ups and downs, he was by her side, even when Cathy was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022. He stood by her side, taking her to every doctor's visit and treatment until the very end, showing a testament to true love. It is our belief that he was ready to be with her again and she was waiting (impatiently) for him to spend eternity right by her side like he always was.
A memorial service will be held at McNutt Funeral Home, 1703 Porter Rd, Conroe, TX 77301, on January 17, 2026, at 2 P.M. All are welcome to attend and share stories. Of course, no dress code. Just come as you are, that is how he would want it. Sleeves are preferred but optional.
