Kevin S. Thompson, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the age of 68 in Tonopah, Arizona. He was born on April 18, 1957, in Richland, Washington.
Kevin was a graduate of Columbus North High School, where he discovered his lifelong passion for music. A natural drummer, he played with heart and fervor in several bands, bringing joy and rhythm to everyone who heard him perform. In addition to his musical pursuits, Kevin built a career as a heavy equipment operator, a role in which he was known for his work ethic in farming and building houses with his father and brother.
He was the beloved brother to Randy (Amy) Thompson and Kimberly Gibson and held special places in the hearts of his nephews, Joshua B. Thompson, Nick (Jessica) Wise, Elijah Wise, Timothy (Laura) Huneycutt, his nieces, Danica Thompson and Braylee Gibson and a great nephew, Collin Huneycutt. Kevin was predeceased by his brother, Timothy Thompson; his sister Kristina Huneycutt; his nephew, Joseph Thompson and his parents.
An adventurous spirit, Kevin had a knack for creating memorable experiences, whether it was on a spontaneous road trip or during a high-energy drum solo. His creative essence shined brightly, influencing and inspiring those around him to embrace life's possibilities with open arms.
A man of many talents and abundant warmth, Kevin's absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched. As we bid farewell to Kevin S. Thompson, we celebrate the beat of his drum that echoes eternally in the melody of life.
Kevin will be laid to rest at 2;30 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025 with graveside rites in Garland Brook Cemetery. There will be no visitation hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
