Kevlyn Ann Hansen
September 12, 1958 – July 4, 2025
Kevlyn "Kevi" Ann Hansen (66), of Ogden, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2025, following a fall. Though her passing was sudden, her legacy is one that will live on through the countless lives she touched with her love, generosity, and strength.
Kevi was born on September 12, 1958, in Pocatello, Idaho to Nile and Dorothy Hansen. From an early age, it was clear she was a force to be reckoned with. Despite facing significant challenges in her young adult years, Kevi was fiercely determined to succeed and built an extraordinary life through resilience, ambition, and an unstoppable spirit.
At just 18 years old, Kevi began her career in the mailroom at the IRS. Within just a few years, she earned her associate's degree in Business – an early sign of her relentless determination and sharp mind. From there, she rose steadily through the ranks, eventually becoming a highly respected tax analyst. Kevi genuinely loved her work. Her intelligence, focus, and passion for doing things right set her apart, and made her a true inspiration to all who knew her.
Kevi had a larger-than-life personality and a zest for living that few could rival. She was a certified dive master and rescue scuba diver, exploring underwater worlds in places like Hawaii, Bali, and Bora Bora. The ocean was her sanctuary, and dolphins, which she cherished and collected, were her lifelong symbol of joy and freedom. Her favorite place in the world was the Oregon coast, especially Depoe Bay, where she will be laid to rest.
Her adventurous spirit didn't stop at the sea. She loved golfing, snow and water skiing, deep sea fishing, and traveling the globe – often treating family to extravagant and unforgettable trips. She adored fashion, and always dressed impeccably. Her love of plants, nature, and cooking reflected the nurturing way she cared for those around her.
Kevi's heart was as expansive as her adventures. She never missed a birthday or special occasion, always sending thoughtful, personal gifts to her sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She loved them all as if they were her own children and grandchildren – showering them with affection and creating lifelong memories.
Her constant companion for the past 14 years was her beloved dog, Chester, who she took everywhere. He brought her comfort, companionship, and love, especially in her later years.
Kevi was preceded in death by her beloved son, Christopher Roskelley; her parents, Nile and Dorothy Hansen; and her brother-in-law, Dale Hendrickson. She is survived by her 3 sisters: Tammy Hansen, Marla (Randy) Knickmeier, and Shelly Hendrickson; as well as her cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and her sweet Chester.
A celebration of Kevi's life will be held as an open house on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Mendon City Station (95 North Main Street, Mendon, Utah). Casual attire. Come as you are to celebrate Kevi's life. A special balloon release in her honor will take place during the final 30 minutes of the event. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Kevi's neighbors, whose kindness and care meant so much in her final years. Their love for Kevi – and their commitment to ensuring Chester continues to be loved and safe after her passing – will never be forgotten.
Kevi's life was one of courage, color, generosity, and grit. She lived fully, gave freely, and loved deeply. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the joy of knowing her.
