Kham Washburn, a beloved homemaker and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on May 4, 1960, in Thailand, Kham spent her later years in Gastonia, NC, where she created a warm and loving home for her family.
Kham was known for her passion for animals and plants; her cherished cat, Lucky, and her two dogs, Sissy and Brandy, were her constant companions. She had a remarkable green thumb, filling her home with beautiful plants and brightening the lives of those around her. Kham also had a special love for coffee and enjoyed her frequent trips to Dunkin' Donuts, where she savored every cup alongside sweet treats.
Kham's family was her greatest joy. Survived by her loving husband, Russell Washburn; children, Phetsamont Phommabouth (Nelson Deras), Vongvily Phommabouth; Leday Phommabouth; Rattana Phommabouth; grandchildren, Denaila Deras, Damian Deras, Asia Phommabouth, Lea Phommabouth, Jacob Phommabouth; great grandchildren, Jaxson Tucker, Alexandra Phommabouth, and leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be missed by her many family members and friends. Her life was rich with love and laughter, and she never hesitated to lend an ear or offer a helping hand.

Kham was preceded in death by son, Jher Hreey Phommabouth.
In honor of Kham's life, a private service will be held.
Kham Washburn will forever be remembered for the joy and light she brought into the lives of those around her. May she rest easy, as we all share a cup of coffee in her honor.
