Sulphur Springs, Texas - Kiley Peterson, a beloved soul who touched the hearts of many, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Though her time with us was too brief, the impact she made during her years will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Her service will be held, Sunday, July 21, 2024 at County Line Baptist Church at 2 pm.  A visitation will be held one hour prior.

Born on January 25, 2008, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Ashlee Swilling and Chandon Peterson, Kiley brought joy and light wherever she went. She left her mark at Miller Grove High School and would have proudly graduated with the class of 2026. Kiley's competitive spirit shone brightly as she thrived in volleyball, basketball, and track, collecting an impressive metal collection.

One of Kiley's fondest memories with her dad and one that showed her competitive nature, was when she passionately participated in a fishing tournament. Facing a setback that dropped her from 3rd to 4th place, she tried to take it like a champ, but vowed she was done with competitive fishing, but very much enjoyed the time with her dad.

Kiley's interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She found joy in activities such as animals, kayaking on the lake fishing with her dad, dealing a hand at family poker night or simply being outdoors spending time with the family and friends she loved so much. She had a special bond with her beloved dog Molly and bearded dragon, and they will miss her as much as she misses them. Kiley also treasured her friendship with Maci Melton, her best friend who shared countless adventures and memories with.

She was known for her gracious and loving nature; Kiley held each family member and friend dear to her heart. She showed no partiality when it came to friends at school. With an outgoing and humorous personality, she had a gift for spreading laughter wherever she went. Her ability to make others smile was truly remarkable.

Her proudest accomplishments revolved around the love she shared with her family; their love and support provided her with comfort and strength throughout her life. She didn’t have a favorite really, but she had an attachment to her Papa and would spend a week with him when she could. She was known for her innate ability to connect with others - never meeting a stranger and always seeking to include others.

Kiley is survived by her mother and stepfather, Ashlee and Stephen Swilling; father, Chandon Peterson and Jessica Wilt; Meme, Charlotte Burns; grandpa, Edward Peterson; grandmother, Kim Clark; sisters, Haylee Dobbs, Destanie Swilling, Faith Swilling, Lovelie Swilling; brothers, Dayen Harville, Bentley Shropshire; best friends, Maci Melton and Cheyanne O'Connor-Bathe, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandpa, Larry Burns, our Vietnam Veteran; grandmother, Cheryl Peterson and uncle, Marshall Nation.

Although Kiley departed from this world far too soon, the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May we remember her vibrant spirit, unwavering determination, and boundless love as we carry forward the legacy she leaves behind.
