Kim Wells Caraway, born on May 5, 1966, in Asheville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2025, in Leicester, North Carolina. A beloved member of her community and a dedicated family member, Kim leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and shared memories.

Kim dedicated over three decades of her life to her career, serving as an Office Administrator at AB Tech for 21 years before moving on to the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office, where she worked for another 10 years until her retirement in December 2022. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family and friends, with whom she shared countless cherished moments.

A proud graduate, Kim earned her Associates of Applied Science from AB Tech in 1987, further demonstrating her commitment to education and personal growth. She was a faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church from 1995 until 2010 and had since held her spiritual home at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she found comfort and community.

Kim was known for her delightful sense of humor, which quickly endeared her to those around her. She enjoyed traveling with her family, creating lasting memories in every adventure they embarked upon together. Her proudest accomplishments were the bonds she built with her family and friends.

Kim is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Alex Caraway; her daughter, Brittany Caraway; her sister, Janice Harris and her husband Charles; her brothers, Randy Wells and his wife Teresa, and Ricky Wells; along with her cherished nephews: Mark Harris and his wife Esther, Ryan Harris and his wife Angie, and Derek Benson and his wife Shannon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Wells and Lou Ella Black Wells, who welcomed her into this world and guided her in life.

The family will hold a visitation on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home located at 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806. Revs. Keith Watkins, Jason Cox, and Mark Harris will officiate her service.
