Kim Heller Obituary

Kim Heller

NEW BRITAIN

Kim Heller, 60, of New Britain, CT passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2025 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut after a brief but serious illness with loving family by her side. Kim was born on November 23, 1965 in New Britain to the late George J. Heller and Carol A. Heller. She graduated and attended school at New Britain High before moving to Southington and starting her family.

Kim was someone who had a special connection with nature and animals throughout her entire

life. She spent countless years working with animal rescues along with taking care of her own

personal collection of furry and non-furry family members. Kim was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back if you were in her circle. Kim spent most of her free time embracing the odd and broken things in life. Something so simple as walking through an antique shop to find something no one else wanted. It was the simple small things in life that brought a smile to her face. As long as everyone around her was doing well she was happy. She also spent the last two years of her life selflessly helping her mother care for her household. No one in our family was ready for Kim's passing and she will be forever remembered for her acts of kindness and love for her family and nature. If you ever met her, I know she left a lasting imprint.

Kim is survived by her son Robert Garofalo and his spouse Alayna Garofalo of Southington; daughter Olivia Battistini and boyfriend Kyle Adams with granddaughter Lyla of Bristol; mother Carol Heller of New Britain; siblings Kevin and Susan Brigandi of Colchester, Mike and Jeanne Heller of Southington, Sandy and Lee Roski of Kensington, Cheryl Heller Fliss of New Britain; and many nieces and nephews Alexia, Justin, Nate, Sarah, Zach, Abby, Justin, Emma, Donny and Aiden. Kim was predeceased by her father George Heller. Kim also leaves behind her two cats, Crow and Floofa who will be going to loving homes with her son and daughter.

Kim's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain for their wonderful care of our beloved Kim.

The family asks that in remembrance of Kim that you go to a local animal rescue or sanctuary and just spend some time with them if you can't open up your home to a new member. Plant a tree, save a bug, talk to the pigeons. She will be by your side through it all.

Please keep Kim's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held at the family's discretion at a later date. Please share a memory of Kim with the family in the online guestbook at www.ericksonhansen.com
