Kim L. King, 53, of Norridgewock, Maine

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kim L. King, 53, of Norridgewock, Maine, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, after a brave and hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Skowhegan, Maine, Kim dedicated her life to caring for those around her with love, compassion, and unwavering strength.

Kim was a devoted mother, sister, nana, partner, and friend. She had one of the kindest hearts you could ever encounter-always willing to give the shirt off her back to someone in need, even if it meant going without herself. She was the kind of person who would be there in your corner, no matter what-offering a listening ear, warm hug, or comforting words just when you needed them most.

Her resilience was inspiring. Diagnosed with breast cancer far too young, Kim fought and overcame the disease once with incredible courage. When it returned years later, stronger and more relentless, she met it head-on with that same unshakable spirit. Even in her final days at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, she continued to fight, surrounded by the family and friends who loved her so deeply.

Kim is survived by her loving partner, Edward Rice; her children Valerie King, Maryanne Towers, and Austin Towers; her grandchildren Shawn King, Regina Houghton, and Kegan Rideout; and her great-grandson, Jayve Martinez-Houghton. She is also survived by her brother Timothy Robbins, sister Rita Robbins, and long-time family friend James Towers-along with many beloved stepchildren, step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She was predeceased by her grandparents Alfred and Mavis King; her mother Debra Hathaway; her father Billy Goodale; her sister Cassie Robbins; her husband Edward Towers Jr.; and many other cherished family members and friends who no doubt welcomed her home with open arms.

Kim's legacy is one of fierce love, quiet strength, and boundless generosity. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Kim's life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements are finalized.
