Kim J. "Kimbob" Muszynski, age 68, of Alpena, Michigan passed away at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena, Sunday morning, July 13, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife and family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kim was born on December 14, 1956, in Alpena to the late Otto and Noretha (Pinky) Muszynski. Together the family traveled with the military where Kim and his family lived in Colorado and Germany until the family returned to Alpena on 1968.

On December 24, 1975, Kim was united in marriage with the love of his life Mary (Lapczynski). Kim and Mary resided in Colorado during his 1st military term and returned to Alpena. Kim and Mary welcomed their first born child, Jenny, in 1975 and their second born child, Kelli, in 1979. One of Kim's greatest joys in life was his unconditional love for his family. Kim and Mary were gifted with their beautiful, precious granddaughter, Addison (papa's "pumpkin") in July 2008. In August 2014, Kim and Mary welcomed the arrival of their amazing, energetic grandson, Kenneth (papa's "bulldog"). Kim prided himself on being a loving husband, father and papa. He loved his family and his fur babies, Milo (papa's best buddy), Max, Lola Lou, and Tyson. He adored watching his fur babies and engaging with his beloved family. Kim was and will always continue to be a pillar of strength and unapologetic love for his family.

Kim enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1975. He continued his military career with the Air Force where he retired after 26 ½ years of service. Over the years, Kim was an avid pool player on Thunder Bay Men's Pool League. He enjoyed playing golf with his numerous friends and family. He enjoyed socializing with all those around him and loved cracking a joke and making others smile. Kim was a jack of all trades and was always willing to tackle a challenge and to help others. Kim enjoyed being outdoors and the warmth of the sunshine. He loved his people dearly.

Surviving are his beautiful wife, Mary; two daughters, Jenny (Derek) Seguin, Kelli Muszynski, both of Alpena; grandchildren, Addison, Kenneth; sister, Patti (Ron) Tews; several loved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Buck) Baker, sister, Bonnie Schaudt; father-in-law, Harry Lapczynski; mother-in-law, Pearl Soltysiak; father-in-law, Stan Soltysiak; uncles, Frank & Cash Kornowski.

Memorial visitation will take place Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Bannan Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m. followed by military honors accorded him by Alpena VFW Post 2496.
