Kim Yates Obituary

Kim Yates

Cox's Creek - Kim was born on December 29, 1962 on a Naval base in Chelsea, Massachusetts to James Davis and Vida Hayden.

Kim was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandparent and friend to many. She left this earth on the morning of April 22nd in a tragic car accident.

She married the love of her life and best friend Leonard on November 5th, 1981 in a small ceremony in downtown Louisville. Kim enjoyed gardening out on her farm. She absolutely loved taking cruises all around the world with her husband and they were planning cruise number five before her passing.

Kim was a member of Fern Creek Congregation of Jehovah Witness, to which she was very faithful. One of Kim's proudest moments is when she became a "Gran" to Jaidyn and Zoe Yates. She was preceded in death by her step father, Robert Robertson. Her surviving family includes her husband, Leonard Yates; mother, Vida Hayden; father, James Davis; brothers, Che Davis, Neil Brown, and Bobby Robertson; children, Len Yates, Nain Yates (Tammy Williams) and Lenah Yates (Holly Yates); grandchildren, Jaidyn Yates, Zoe Yates, Keaton Smith, and Ava Smith; uncle, Terry Davis, aunt, Myrtle Glover; and several step children, nieces and nephews.

Kim touched many hearts and lives while on the earth. She is dearly loved by many and will be truly missed.

Memorial visitation is 2-4pm Saturday, May 22nd at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.

Kim and I went to high school together when she lived with her aunt Sadie on Hudson. We lost touch over the years but she was a true friend.
