The following was lovingly written by Kim's family...
We remember the life of Kim Abercrombie-
a woman whose heart beat strongest
for the people she loved.
To know Kim was to know a fierce and devoted love,
a sparkling wit, and a life lived
with joy, purpose, and deep devotion.
Kim loved her family dearly.
Nothing brought her more happiness
than being surrounded by
those she held closest-
especially her beloved grand babies.
Whether she was cheering them on at ball games,
laughing with them by the pool in the summertime,
or simply soaking in every little moment,
her love as a grandmother
shone brighter than words can say.
One of the greatest joys of Kim's life
was her marriage of 39 years to the love of her life.
Their relationship was a beautiful
testament to lasting love,
partnership, and shared laughter.
Together, they built a life filled with devotion,
mutual respect, and unwavering support.
Through every season of life,
in sickness and in health,
their bond remained strong-
a source of comfort, joy,
and deep-rooted love.
She had an incredibly special bond
with her mom and dad and
cherished every moment spent with them
and the rest of her family.
Her sister wasn't just family-
she was her best friend,
her confidante, her heart's companion.
That closeness was a cornerstone of Kim's life,
a source of joy and strength that never wavered.
A proud Oklahoma State fan,
Kim lit up in orange and black.
She loved attending games,
feeling the roar of the crowd,
and being part of something spirited and grand.
But even more than cheering on her team,
she delighted in watching her grand kids play ball,
always the loudest, proudest fan in the stands.
Kim had a gift for hospitality and joy-
summertime meant poolside chats,
laughter, and sunshine.
Her cinnamon rolls were legendary-
there wasn't a soul who tried them
who didn't immediately crown them
the best on the planet.
She joked about one day owning a Taco Bueno,
and if you knew Kim,
you know she would have made it
the most joyful Taco Bueno
this world had ever seen.
She was a faithful servant,
playing piano and giving her time and talent to her
church with a heart full of grace and humility.
Her work ethic was unmatched-
whether she was pouring herself into
her job or her family,
she gave everything she had.
Kim didn't do things halfway;
she gave her whole heart, every time.
She was witty, clever, and full of life.
Her sharp sense of humor kept everyone smiling,
and no morning could begin without her
signature ice-cold Dr. Pepper in hand-
a little detail that says
so much about the
woman who made every day uniquely her own.
Kim also treasured her friendships deeply,
taking yearly trips with friends
that were filled with laughter, memories,
and the kind of joy
only true friendship brings.
Kim Abercrombie lived a beautiful,
meaningful life.
She gave her love freely, laughed often,
worked hard, and left an unforgettable mark
on everyone lucky enough to know her.
Though we will miss her more than words can say,
we take comfort in knowing her love lives on
in every heart she touched.
Kim is healed and walking with our Lord.
Watching over her family every single day.
Rest well, Kim. You were deeply loved-
and always will be.
